SXSW Review
SXSW Review by Tim Medcraft
SxSW was hot. 92 degrees hot. Record temperatures apparently...which caught out the entireUK contingent who left the t shirts and shorts at home!

Highlights? Other than the free BBQ for brunch EVERY day (it's compulsory in Texas) the British
BBQ took the role of all British abroad events...everyone you ever wanted to see turns up at the same place at the same time eats free food then disappears!
Gigs also start at 12 midday...and run until 2am And for once the concept of having a badge that
gets you in to venues worked (it's a brilliantly organised event)
The majority of gigs are based across 2 streets which are pedestrianised...imagine Camden on a Sundayor Camden Crawl but with 10 times the amount of attendees.
Gig highlights included our Clare & The Reasons performing at the Presbyterian Church (a venue
similar to Union Chapel Islington) which was wonderful...packed and an great ovation at the end...the role of planets in Pluton played by miner lights attached to the band's foreheads!
Keep an eye out for them in the UK soon.
The rest was spent working out which average / good band was better than the next average / good band - although there are a couple of great acts that we are now discussing terms with and no I'm not telling until they're signed!
The Bucks sponsored SxSeattle party also went down really well...packed out...in a venue later used by Perez Hilton.
Thanks go to all those who organised it but especially Amy Bauer from Loveless Records, Chris Adams at Sarathan Records and Manny at Bear Creek for their hard work and organisation.
